Recently, good news came from the first refining and rolling operation department - the new generation of high-strength bridge steel TQ370qD has been successfully smelted in this operation department, and its nitrogen content has been stably controlled below 0.0060%, marking an important step for the operation department in the practice of special steel transformation. This breakthrough is not only due to advanced process technology innovation, but also embodies the tackling power of the steelmaking team under the guidance of the Wolf Warrior spirit.

TQ370qD steel, as an important upgraded product of Q370q series, puts forward higher requirements for nitrogen element control. To ensure the successful smelting of this steel grade in one go, the steelmaking operation area of the department relies on the mature experience of low nitrogen steel grades such as bridge steel and welding wire steel, systematically optimizes the converter and refining smelting process parameters, accurately regulates the raw material ratio, and after sufficient preparation in the early stage, ultimately ensures the precise control of nitrogen element content in the molten steel, laying a solid foundation for subsequent batch production. During the smelting process, they adopted a method of adding silicon manganese and low-carbon manganese iron together, reducing nitrogen introduction from the raw material end, strictly controlling the carbon content and tapping temperature at the converter endpoint, and combining with related technologies such as top slag addition to effectively isolate air inhalation during the tapping process. During the refining process, they fully control the argon stirring intensity and efficient calcium treatment capacity, promoting the efficient discharge of nitrogen bubbles. After testing, the nitrogen content of TQ370qD steel remains stable at 0.003% -0.006%, fully meeting the GB/T 714-2015 standard. Its toughness and welding performance have reached industry-leading levels, providing more reliable material support for bridge construction.
